How does one cut through the noise of early morning television, a load of advertising from other folks pulling for your attention and ultimately draw the users attention to your spot? One way is to drop the volume. Reduce the noise for a moment. In this Cenwood spot the idea was to bring the user to a quiet place, deliver the message and in doing so give them a moment of refuge.

Here’s a few shots from the first round of shooting for Spragwerks (spragwerks.com). Absolutely love this jewelry, and after seeing a ton of it in person, it’s worth every penny. Rich Sandomeno, the creator of these goods, is an amazing craftsmen and has a hell of a vision. It’ll be great to start working on the concepts we’ve worked up over the last month. Let’s just say that the next round has quite the odd mix of characters involved.

“Veneration”
Saints Series
2010

This last weekend I had the opportunity to go shoot the Nascar race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Particularly the Food City 500 and Scotts Turf Builder 300. It’s not often I shoot this type of photography, and it’s my first time shooting a sports event. I have to say, I really enjoyed it. Over twelve hundred photos over a two day period. Here’s a small handful of my favorites.

And a few more after the jump…
Early on in the “Saints” series I sketched a piece out I called ‘Nurses’. As time went on it evolved out of the “Saints” series into it’s own standalone piece. Along the way I tried in every way to find the right set where I could build it out as it was in my head. While I was unable to find a location, other than my studio, I was able to find a spot with the exact table I was looking for. So, there was only one thing to do at that point. Composite everything else into the shot. After a bit of work, I’ve landed on the final shot. Now it’s on to some new “Saints” pieces.
