Baby Morte Sculpt: Part I

My pops and me have been working on a collaboration based on my illustration, “Baby Morte”. Here’s the first shot of the rough. Next up is a little scaling up of the head, some changes to the skull, hands and a couple small changes to the body. Can’t wait to implement the “secret plan” when it’s complete.

Miami Ink’s Chris Garver Wears My Artwork

I awoke early a couple weeks ago to a pleasant surprise. Several friends had written and said that they were watching Miami Ink the night before, on A&E, and saw Chris Garver wearing one of my shirts that I designed for 70 Star 7 Industries. Of course that was one night I hadn’t set the DVR to record the show. But thank goodness for good ol’ iTunes. A week or so later I was able to download the episode, called “Kat’s Cooking”. Here’s a shot from the show. Chris wore it for a good 30% of the show. Thanks Mr. Garver. It is much appreciated.

This is what I do and love. Each of these have common traits with the other; communication, dots and constraints. Each must communicate an idea to the viewer or perhaps an idea or action. In order to convey this message there are dots in need of connection, often in the form of creative problem solving. And with each there are constraints that must be worked within whatever the size. It's the navigation of these traits, paired with the journey, that drives the need to do these things.

I'm currently available for full-time, freelance and contract gigs. When I'm not working I'm creating photography resources, mixing cocktails or showcasing poster artwork from around the world.
