Unfortunate End

Early on in the “Saints” series I sketched a piece out I called ‘Nurses’. As time went on it evolved out of the “Saints” series into it’s own standalone piece. Along the way I tried in every way to find the right set where I could build it out as it was in my head. While I was unable to find a location, other than my studio, I was able to find a spot with the exact table I was looking for. So, there was only one thing to do at that point. Composite everything else into the shot. After a bit of work, I’ve landed on the final shot. Now it’s on to some new “Saints” pieces.

Update: I’ve been asked the question a few times. Thought I’d throw the answer out here. Yup, it’s all the same girl.

I don’t think I tell you this enough because I feel as if it is obvious but regardless, I should not neglect to reiterate from time-to-time how insanely talented you are sir. Amazing.

Thanks for the kind words and support ya’ll. Re-inspired now to dig into some other ideas I’ve shot for, but haven’t started compositing.

You know Jess, there is something that would have really set this over the top. You’re designs. Thanks for your comment. Storytelling is definitely top of mind for me.

This is what I do and love. Each of these have common traits with the other; communication, dots and constraints. Each must communicate an idea to the viewer or perhaps an idea or action. In order to convey this message there are dots in need of connection, often in the form of creative problem solving. And with each there are constraints that must be worked within whatever the size. It's the navigation of these traits, paired with the journey, that drives the need to do these things.

I'm currently available for full-time, freelance and contract gigs. When I'm not working I'm creating photography resources, mixing cocktails or showcasing poster artwork from around the world.
