“Rising Tide” Work in Progress: Part I

In November I started working on a series of pieces for an exhibition coming up in March 2009 in Philidelphia. Now that the shooting is complete I am heads down in the editing process working on a load of compositing and post production.  Along the way I have spent quite a bit of time on some great Photoshop and digital arts websites getting a bit of inspiration.  One of the things that I keyed in on was the willingness of the artists to share their progress, what their working on and how they do what they do. It’s incredibly interesting to see how each artist works through their piece and what order they attack their phases in.  It inspired me to post some of my own work in progress and if anyone is interested I’ll work on some tutorials as well (and if there are any special requests, shoot me an email). This shot here, “Rising Tide” (working title) is part 1 of the work in progress.  I’ll post more in the coming weeks.

This is what I do and love. Each of these have common traits with the other; communication, dots and constraints. Each must communicate an idea to the viewer or perhaps an idea or action. In order to convey this message there are dots in need of connection, often in the form of creative problem solving. And with each there are constraints that must be worked within whatever the size. It's the navigation of these traits, paired with the journey, that drives the need to do these things.

I'm currently available for full-time, freelance and contract gigs. When I'm not working I'm creating photography resources, mixing cocktails or showcasing poster artwork from around the world.
